This was originally designed for 2016, so here are some resources we used then, that you could adapt if you like.

Curiosity and about 30 minutes a day required. This reading plan covers the entire Bible in a year, but only the Old Testament passages are in chronological order. The New Testament chapters are all over the place, as they fit in some way with the OT passages. This plan would probably be enjoyed more by people who have previously read through the Bible in a more consecutive way and have some context to begin with. You can find different plans for a more linear reading over on the right.
~ Four or Five Chapters a Day, Six Days a Week ~
It’s six days a week of four to five chapters per day (occasionally fewer). All the New Testament (NT) passages relate in some way to the Old Testament (OT) reading of the day. Sometimes they include direct quotes, other times they provide appplication, context, depth, or contrast. You can just explore and enjoy each passage for itself, or look for how each NT passage relates to the OT passage of the day.

One day per week no reading is assigned, so you can use that day to catch up or reflect, pray, ponder and connect with other readers to share favorite passages or insights from the week. Ask a friend or two to read along with you so you can keep each other accountable to finish! A weekly planned check-in can help to achieve your goal.

The read-through of the entire Bible ends after 49 weeks, so that you can take a lighter reading schedule during the busy end-of-year holiday time, whenever that is during your schedule, and still finish the Bible in a year. For three weeks during the holiday season, you can choose to read the passages in green at the bottom of the plan, showing how Jesus fulfilled prophecies, which are duplicate passages from the read-through.
